This is my thirty second street action to get out of my head and into my body. I wanted to create something with the fallen magnolia petals. Proving to myself that the temporary art I make does not have to be intricate or 80 hours in planning and construction to be a valuable addition to the cityscape. Touching the petals, laying them down on the crack in the sidewalk and piling them up on top of each other gave me an immediate sense of joy and power. A man passed and smiled at me mid-creation. I will continue my short engagements with the environment as a form of research with different natural materials and various placements. I am trying to de-stuck myself with these little projects. To make it not as daunting as some of these instillations may feel.
